I finally got a chance to
speak with pain; I had a lot of questions for pain to answer hopefully. The
first question was obvious –
Why do you afflict my life?
Still no answer
Then I realized I was asking
the wrong questions, so I shouted out: Who do you think you are? Pain turned
around and finally answered, ‘O just a friend.’
Well you’re no friend of
mine! At this, pain started laughing hysterically then said, ‘I remind you of
your frailty, your capabilities and your nature, without me you would start
thinking that you’re perfect; or even God Himself!
I thought about what pain
said, then he rose up and asked me…’Can I go now? I have work to do’ So I asked
pain, where are you going? He replied, not very far, I’m still working in this
house.
I begged pain to leave…he
said, “I can leave but there’s a problem.” What’s that? He answered, if I
leave, you would have no motivation to seek God.
With that, pain turned and
walked away – he headed into my bedroom, then my living room, kitchen, garage,
bathrooms, front and back yard; then he took off to the church.
Pain is everywhere; he makes
no reservations, he simply shows up expectantly, leaving us with a choice to
learn, to run, to yearn, or lash out. No apologies, no regrets – pain.
