For God so Loved You and Me

John 3: 16 - 17, 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him, might be saved.'

One thing is for certain - God loves you and He loves me! He sent His One and only Son down to us, to become one of us, that He may save all of us. This wasn't an easy decision to make. It has been said and agreed upon that the worse pain any human being can ever experience is the loss of a child by way of death.

While I've never experienced this pain myself, my mother has. My sister died 9 years ago, and I could only watch in horror, disbelief and helplessness, as my mother suffered her abrupt end to life. I remember going to the wake, and it took most of the ushers to hold my mom up as she passed by the casket, the anguish and pain in her eyes was nearly unbearable. The only thing that kept me together was the fact that I knew Krishauna was saved and in heave looking down at us. However, this knowledge didn't circumvent the circumstances, nor soften the blow of her losing a child.

Now having said this, if what I saw with my own eyes was truly painful - I can only imagine what it must've felt like to God, when He willfully sent His Son to die on the cross for you and for me. I wonder what it was like to turn His back on His Son because in a moment of time, Jesus was bearing all of the sins and the weight that comes with it, on His shoulders. I mean, how God literally stood by and watched His Son get beaten beyond recognition, and spit upon, etc. I know that was extremely difficult to witness...but God's love for you and me, spoke louder than His feelings, and His vindication.

Whoever you are, and whatever you do - never lose the memory of what Jesus did for you and for me on the cross that day. His name is great, and He's greatly to be praised.

The Power of God

Hebrews 12: 29 - 'Our God is a consuming fire...'  I thank my God that we were able to witness this momentous occasion. My brother (Casi), and my sister (Veronica), tied the knot this morning! What a beautiful story of integrity, fidelity, and prayerful persistence! According to testimony...Veronica received a word from Pastor Dillard October 2014 that her prayers would be answered and the one she has been praying for would be by her side not too long from now...this has actually come true!! Through fasting, prayer, counseling and perseverance...that prayer was answered in a big way! Casi, a man of the penal system, made some serious decisions to turn his life around and give Jesus his life. This took a lot of soul - searching, and a lot of humility; usually a man of great pride and arrogance, now had to come to grips with the truth that he was in desperate need of the blood of Jesus. His love for Veronica had surfaced, but her commitment to Christ through him for a loop...

Need of Ministry

1 Samuel 3:1-14  3 Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. 2 And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see, 3 and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down, 4 that the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, “Here I am!” 5 So he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” And he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” And he went and lay down. 6 Then the Lord called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” He answered, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.” 7 (Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him.) 8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “H...

Take him out

Judges 1: 28 - 'And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites under tribute, but they did not completely drive them out...' You must consider with me, the Children of Israel were probably feeling good about themselves at this point. They escaped the hands of the Egyptians, in dramatic fashion...they survived the wilderness and God blessed them incredibly through that; then, they cross the Red Sea, the Jordan, and literally destroy every enemy they encountered up until Joshua's death...that's impressive. However, with great victory comes great responsibility - they were too confident in themselves instead of God and they allowed the enemy to hang around longer than they should; this eventually became their own undoing, the same is true for you and me. I'm here to tell you that you shouldn't negotiate with the enemy, you should TAKE HIM OUT! The many problems the Israelites ran into is found in chapter 2 of Judges...God said for ...
