Resurrection and the Life

John 11: 23 - 26, 'Jesus said to her, 'your brother will rise again.  Martha said to Him, 'I know that he will rise again, in the resurrection at the last day.'  Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me shall never die.'  Do you believe this?

That seems to be the question of the hour...do you believe this?  Can you with confidence believe that Jesus Christ will do what He said He will do? What I've come to witness is people who have no problem believing God for what He can do in others, yet they struggle when they're in need of God to move for them.  Is it a fear that maybe Jesus will not come through?  Or maybe it's the possibility of vulnerability...in other words, by needing Jesus - you're telling others that you have a weakness or a shortcoming...well, so what!

I strongly believe that when we are out of options, that is when the glory of God can shine the brightest in our lives.  He can finally take control of our life because we are all out of carnal options.  This is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of total victory!

Proverbs 3: 5 - 6, 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.'

It's almost as if King Solomon is pleading with us to trust God instead of looking to our own devices.  There is a reason for this...we've messed things up for so long, we must train ourselves to place things in the hands of God.  Once we do this, we must master the art of 'Leaving things with Him.'

I encourage you, and I also challenge you to leave things with God...allow Jesus to be the Resurrection and the Life for you!  I'd love to hear testimonies from you regarding trusting God...also, if you have any specific prayer requests, please leave a comment so that I and our congregation can pray and believe God with you.

The Power of God

Hebrews 12: 29 - 'Our God is a consuming fire...'  I thank my God that we were able to witness this momentous occasion. My brother (Casi), and my sister (Veronica), tied the knot this morning! What a beautiful story of integrity, fidelity, and prayerful persistence! According to testimony...Veronica received a word from Pastor Dillard October 2014 that her prayers would be answered and the one she has been praying for would be by her side not too long from now...this has actually come true!! Through fasting, prayer, counseling and perseverance...that prayer was answered in a big way! Casi, a man of the penal system, made some serious decisions to turn his life around and give Jesus his life. This took a lot of soul - searching, and a lot of humility; usually a man of great pride and arrogance, now had to come to grips with the truth that he was in desperate need of the blood of Jesus. His love for Veronica had surfaced, but her commitment to Christ through him for a loop...

Need of Ministry

1 Samuel 3:1-14  3 Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. 2 And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see, 3 and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down, 4 that the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, “Here I am!” 5 So he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” And he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” And he went and lay down. 6 Then the Lord called yet again, “Samuel!” So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” He answered, “I did not call, my son; lie down again.” 7 (Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him.) 8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “H...

Take him out

Judges 1: 28 - 'And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites under tribute, but they did not completely drive them out...' You must consider with me, the Children of Israel were probably feeling good about themselves at this point. They escaped the hands of the Egyptians, in dramatic fashion...they survived the wilderness and God blessed them incredibly through that; then, they cross the Red Sea, the Jordan, and literally destroy every enemy they encountered up until Joshua's death...that's impressive. However, with great victory comes great responsibility - they were too confident in themselves instead of God and they allowed the enemy to hang around longer than they should; this eventually became their own undoing, the same is true for you and me. I'm here to tell you that you shouldn't negotiate with the enemy, you should TAKE HIM OUT! The many problems the Israelites ran into is found in chapter 2 of Judges...God said for ...
